Our novice comps are designed to give you an amazing first experience on the platform.
Our objective is to create events that allow you to achieve the best results by providing the ultimate competition experience.
This competition is for novice lifters and is designed to give you an opportunity to lift without the pressures of large competition.

session and group information
The day will have 1 session comprising of 3-4 flights of lifters.
Flights will be released once all weigh-ins are completed.
Be at the venue 8:30am for the lifter briefing.
Weigh Ins
Order of weigh ins will be conducted by first in first serve.
There will be a 24hr weigh-in on the Saturday between 9am-3pm, with same day weigh in also available from 7:30am-8:15am.
Equipment checks will be performed at the weigh in if required.
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Soft suits not required for the novice comp but shorts/t-shirts minimum. No compression gear like skins.
T-shirt on squat and bench required.
Knee high socks required on deadlift.
Shoes to be worn at all times.
Wrist wraps allowed on squat and bench.
Knee sleeves only for squat - no knee wraps allowed.
Belts allowed.
Elbow sleeves not allowed.

what to do one week out
Prepare your gym bag and personal equipment.
Confirm your opening attempts for each lift. You will need these at the weigh in.
warmup area
Access the warmup room for your session. Competition staff on the day will assist.
Confirm your name and details are correct on the competition screens in the warmup area.
Begin warming up when your group details appear on the middle competition screen.
Review the warmup area rules.

For most of the competition we use the GPC rule book.
Access the platform from the left-hand side and marshal to the side of the platform.
Exit to the right-hand side of the platform, place your next attempts at the scorer’s desk and enter the warmup area.
Your handler/coach is not permitted on the platform at any time during your lift (only exception is handing out in the bench press).
Most importantly, have fun!
There will be a lifter briefing at 30min before each session commences to go through the rules,
the running of the day and for you to ask any questions.

By car: Rucci's Gym is easily accessible via Mitchell Freeway, off the Reid Highway exit.

By taxi/uber: Door to door service is available directly from Rucci's Gym.
Food and Refreshments
The Maneki Neko (japanese) food truck will be available for lunch.
The Rucci's Gym Café will be available from 9:30AM for light refreshments including coffee, drinks and snacks.
ETFPOS facilities are available.

This event will be broadcast live on LivePowerlifting.TV. This official broadcast is brought to you by RetraVision Joondalup and event and media partners Stagecraft, Vision Media and Perth FitFam.
This is a professional broadcast with multiple camera angles, data overlays, live chat, commentary and a live score sheet. The live score sheet will also be available to spectators on the day with their mobile phones or tablets.
