Deadlifts are probably the most basic lift technically, and as long as you can perform a proficient hinge pattern, getting into a good position shouldn't be difficult. Everyone should start learning the basic hinge pattern, which progresses onto loading that pattern - conventional deadlifts. You can get VERY strong simply using this style, and many successful Powerlifters use conventional deadlifts. A sumo deadlift is a play on bio-mechanics, where, if done correctly, we can position ourselves in a more advantageous position. I wrote a small blog post on the basic bio-mechanics of sumo deadlifting a while ago. 👉 https://www.ruccisgym.com/post/joint-torque-and-the-deadlift ✔ Powerlifting Coaching ✔ Online Coaching and Programs ✔ Game Day Coaching ✔ Competition Planning ✔ Technique and Skills Coaching
